When I think of Valentine’s day I think of candy so this Valentine’s Bubblegum Topiary was the perfect addition to my Valentine’s decor.
Valentine’s Day and candy pretty much go hand in hand and I wanted to incorporate them both into this project. Technically this project doesn’t have candy, but the little vase fillers do look like bubblegum and so that’s what we’re calling it.
The first step is to paint your wooden pot or pencil holder. I also used my plastic knife technique to create some character and dimension around the edges.
Once you’re paint is dry, you’re going to cut some floral foam to size and insert into the pot.
Once it is secured the way you want it to be, you can add your glittered pics. I used two and staggered them.
Next, hot glue your table scatter or vase filler. You can find these foam balls at Hobby Lobby and Dollar Tree in many different colors. I just layered them around the base and stacked some on top of each other making sure to cover all of the green floral foam.
This is where I think it looks like bubblegum and is just perfect for Valentine’s Day.
If you know me, you know I love adding bows to my projects and this one is no exception. To create the curly cues, you trimmed the wire off the wire-edge ribbon!
I think Valentine’s Bubblegum Topiary just turned out adorable and it fits perfectly in my decor! I’d love to see you create one of your own with your own spin if creativity. Would you go for traditional red and white or something else?
