Take a break from boring dinner and create this lasagna in a jar. You can whip up this delicious recipe in less than an hour.
Busy schedules usually equate to eating lots of processed foods that aren’t healthy for us. Sometimes I like to take a tried and true recipe and transform it in a new way. This Lasagna in a jar is one such recipe!
Here is what you need to make this delicious Lasagna In A Jar:
- Olive oil – 1 tbsp
- Onion – minced
- Ground beef – about 1/2 lb
- Garlic – 3 cloves
- Tomato puree – 2 tbsp
- Oregano – 1 tsp
- Thyme – 1/2 tsp
- Salt – 1/2 tsp
- Black pepper – 1/2 tsp
- Butter – 3 tbsp
- Flour – 2 tbsp
- Milk – 2 cups
- Cheddar – 1 cup
- Mozzarella – 1 cup
- Lasagna noodles – 3
- Zucchin – 1i
Prepare all the ingredients.
Add the olive oil to a frying pan. Fry the chopped onion and ground beef, breaking up the lumps.
Add garlic, tomato puree, salt, pepper, herbs. Cook for 10-15 minutes. After you do this, the meat sauce is ready.
For the white sauce, melt the butter, add flour, fry a little.
Add the hot milk gradually. Cook, stirring constantly, until thickened.
Add half of the cheese and mix. The white sauce is ready once you’ve finished this.
Prepare the meat and white sauce. Break the lasagna sheets in half. Slice the zucchini.
Add meat sauce, zucchini, white sauce, lasagna noodles in your jars. Repeat this twice.
Add cheese on top. Bake in a preheated 180 degree oven for about 25 minutes.
This is a gooey dish full of flavor that is a fun variation to make! There is something about taking an old dish and just serving it in a new way! It’s not just fun for kids – it makes dinnertime with adults exciting also.
