My Christmas cactus is blooming, and it always gets me thinking. This little plant sits there all year, barely getting any attention, hardly watered, just kind of hanging out in its own quiet space. It looks like nothing’s happening. But then, out of nowhere, it blooms. And man, it’s beautiful.
I can’t help but think we’re a lot like that. We go through these seasons where we feel kind of dormant—like we’re just going through the motions or maybe even being a little neglected, whether by others or ourselves. But that doesn’t mean something isn’t brewing underneath. Just like the cactus, we’re gathering what we need in those quiet moments. And when it’s time, we bloom. Not because we forced it or were constantly tending to ourselves, but because it’s part of the natural cycle.
So, if you’re in a season where you feel a little quiet or neglected, just know that your time to bloom will come, and it’s going to be just as beautiful.
