Create some simple clay pot candy corn from dollar store items. Paint, wiggle eyes, and ribbon transform these just in time for Halloween.
No matter if you’re a lover of candy corn or not, this adorable Clay Pot Candy Corn set is going to be your new favorite Halloween project.
Gather all materials and then remove the packaging and labels. Basecoat the 2.5” clay pots with white acrylic craft paint. Paint the top 2/3 of the 3.5” clay pot with orange acrylic craft paint, and the bottom 1/3 with yellow acrylic craft paint. Let the paint dry and then apply a second coat, if necessary.
Attach the smaller white clay pot to the larger orange and yellow clay pot using a glue gun and glue sticks.
Glue two wiggle eyes on the candy corn face using a glue gun and glue sticks. Give them cheeks by dabbing a new pencil eraser in pink craft paint and stamping on the right and left sides, just below the eyes.
To cover up the drain hole in the clay pot, punch a circle from white cardstock. If you don’t have the correct size hole punch, trace a circle using the clay post as a template with a pencil and cut out with scissors. Attach the white cardstock to the clay pot with a glue gun and glue sticks. Draw a mouth from cheek to cheek with a permanent black marker.
Using black and white gingham ribbon, tie two small bows. Attach to the front bottom of the clay pot candy corn with a glue gun and glue sticks. Trim any long ends of ribbon with scissors.
Change things up by creating a variety of sizes of Clay Pot Candy Corn.
Your family and friends will never know how quick and easy this fun Fall decor was to create! The perfect size for a tiered tray display.
If you love these then I would challenge you to create a larger set for your porch entryway! Just grab some larger pots, paint them in the same colors and seal them with some outdoor spray and you’ve got the cutest porch on the block!
I think I’m going to head to the store this weekend and make some for my own porch!
