I LOVE reading – so much so that it can seem to take over my life sometimes. Especially if I find a REALLY good book. I’m sure you have all read a book like that a time or two. There are so many benefits to reading!
I haven’t heard of any studies that link reading to detrimental things! Why not do something that has ALL POSITIVE effects to your mind and soul!
Here is my list of 10 books that I personally believe EVERY woman should read at some point in here life! Remember, this is my recommended list of books I LOVE and believe in!
Eat Pray Love by Elizabeth Gilbert
I love this book so much that I wrote a blog post on it HERE! It is memoir based on one woman’s search for herself! The memoir chronicles Gilbert’s trip around the world after her divorce and what she discovered during her travels. This is more than her journey – it’s a journey into yourself!!
Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert
Can you tell I kinda love Elizabeth Gilbert? This book is all about Courage, Enchantment, Permission, Persistence, Trust and Divinity. Gilbert asks, “Do you have the courage to bring forth the treasures that are hidden within you? This book is about uncovering those jewels and bringing forth your BIG MAGIC!
The Love Dare by Alex and Stephen Kendrick
If you need a book to transform your marriage – THIS IS IT! I am believer of Christ and this joins the simple principles of being a Christian and a having a fulfilling marriage. This is a book that you can do on your own or with your spouse that will change the trajectory of your relationship! I dare you 🙂
The Gifts of Imperfection by Brene Brown
If you know anything about me, you know I am all about encouraging YOU to embrace all of your imperfections! This book is GOLD! It talk about SHAME, and reveals that it is actually our imperfections that connect us to one another as human beings and make us who we are! Make sure you add this one to your reading list!
The War of Art by Steven Pressfield
You DO NOT have to be a creative to read this book! The author highlights SEVERAL ways that resistance shows up in our lives so that we can break through ALL of our barriers! It doesn’t matter what field you work in – this book WILL change your life!
This book is so good it was created into a movie! A best-selling one at that! I tend to love self-discovery memoirs and this 2012 one is no exception! The author takes you alongside on her 1,100-mile hike on the Pacific Crest Trail. Be ready to be broken down and opened up to yourself through her journey!
Love & Respect by Dr. Emerson Eggerichs
This is a faith based book that teaches what men need (respect) and what women need (love) helping you change the way you talk to, think about, and treat your spouse. Not married? This book is still for you! There is so much good stuff in here and Dr. Eggerich knows how to explain it in terms that you understand.
This novel describes the decline of Esther (the main character) into a depressive episode and her stay in a psychiatric ward. It is a very powerful and believable description of depression. Depression affects EVERYONE – don’t think this book isn’t for you!
This not just for a female entrepreneur! It’s for any woman that wants to unlock the secrets to success, sanity and happiness! We all have limiting beliefs that hold us back and this breaks those codes so you can live in truth! Cara has a multi-million business and it’s these secrets that she learned along the way that got her there!
Carry On, Warrior by Glennon Doyle Melton
This book makes you feel loved and cherished giving you permission to embrace your messy and beautiful life! The author has a vulnerability that is beyond measure! You will see yourself in her and you will begin to see that you can LOVE the life you have despite the struggles.
These are some pretty DEEP books – but I PROMISE you will thank yourself for reading! No matter where you are in life (single/married, young/old) and no matter your economic status, these books are for YOU!

I haven’t heard of all of these. But I have read quite a few of them and agree that these are amazing books! Love and Respect was the first book my boyfriend and I read together. It was a real game changer in how I viewed relationships!
