A Thanksgiving turkey isn’t going to be a crowd pleaser if it’s dry and lacking flavor! This turkey brine is going to become your new favorite, creating a moistly delicious turkey every year!
One of the most common complaints when it comes to cooking a Thanksgiving turkey is that is is dry. It is hard to cook for the extended period of time that we do and have it come out juicy.
I’ve come to your rescue!!
Years ago, I started brining my turkey and was pleasantly surprised at how different the turkey turns out. I have been on a mission to perfect the best brine recipe and I am happy to say, I finally have!
Here’s what you need to create your own turkey brine:
- 6 cups apple cider
- 2 apples (I prefer Jonathan)
- 2 cups brown sugar
- 2 rosemary branches
- 3/4 cup kosher salt
- 6 bay leaves
- 2T crushed garlic
- handful of thyme
Gather up all your goodies, cut your apples and put it all in a BIG pot or tub that your turkey will fit in (I use my roasting pan).
Add your turkey, cover and let sit for 24 hours!
The 24 hours of goodness is going to make an amazingly delicious turkey that is not dry at all!
