If you have a quilt-loving momma, she is going to adore this Quilted Mother’s Day sign! Find out how to make your own with this EASY DIY!
Being a momma is the hardest job in the world! I LOVE being able to celebrate Mother’s Day and creating gifts that are truly meaningful to the recipient.
I have always loved the look of patterned vinyl but never could quite find a project to use it on. I came up with the idea to make a quilted Mother’s Day plaque and knew that this would be the PERFECT project to use patterned vinyl on! There are so many options when it comes to choosing what patterned vinyl to use. I chose this option because I knew that my mom would love it.
I created a downloaded file of the design so you can get to creating your Quilted Mother’s Day Sign.
Using your Cricut, cut pieces of the design out that correspond to the patterned vinyl you are using. Cricut has all kinds of tutorials on how to cut and use their vinyl cutting machine.
Once all of your pieces are cut, you’re going to want to lay them out on your already painted wood piece. The process is weeding, transfer tape, application. I am in the process of uploading HOW-TO videos for these steps, but in the meantime there are TONS of tutorials online.
Once all of your vinyl is applied, it’s time to add your button and sand the edges for a distressed look. The sanding is completely optional.
You can seal the piece if you want but it isn’t required since it will remain indoors!
This makes such a fun little Mother’s Day present… or really a great present for mom anytime!
