Pineapple Jar DIY

Using simple supplies from the dollar store, create this quick and easy Pineapple Jar craft in just about 30 minutes.

If you’re like most crafters, you have mason jars laying around. This project is going to be the perfect DIY to put them to use. They’ll be even better if they ave the diamond pattern on them.

Here is what you need to make your own Pineapple Jar:

• Glass Jar with Diamond Pattern
• Natural Jute Twine
• Multi-Surface Acrylic Craft Paint – Light Yellow, Dark Yellow, Dark Green, Dark Brown
• Craft Felt – Olive Green, Dark Green
• Glue Gun and Glue Sticks
• Paintbrush
• Scissors
• Straight Pins
• PINEAPPLE JAR PATTERN

Gather all supplies. Wash, dry, and remove labels from the lid and glass jar. Basecoat the glass jar with light yellow multi-surface acrylic craft paint. Let dry, and apply a second coat, if necessary.

Basecoat the metal jar lid with dark green multi-surface acrylic craft paint. Let dry and apply a second coat, if necessary.

Topcoat the glass jar with dark yellow multi-surface acrylic craft paint in a random fashion, allowing some of the light yellow basecoat to peek through in certain areas.

Apply dark brown multi-surface acrylic craft paint to the raised diamond pattern on the glass jar. Dip the side of a flat paintbrush in the dark brown and tap onto the glass to mimic the rough exterior of a pineapple.

Download, print and cut out the Pineapple Jar Pattern. Attach the pineapple crown pattern to olive green craft felt with straight pins and cut out with scissors. 

Attach the pineapple crown pattern to dark green craft felt with straight pins and cut out with scissors. 

Layer the olive green crown on top of the dark green crown, securing the short end with a glue gun and glue sticks. Carefully and tightly roll the craft felt pineapple crown, securing periodically with glue. Make sure to keep the bottom edge straight as you roll and glue.

Attach the complete pineapple crown to the top center of the jar lid with a glue gun and glue sticks. Wrap natural jute twine around the jar lid, knot and then finish with a bow.

This quick and easy Pineapple Jar Craft goes together in just about 15 minutes with limited supplies.
