I love using old mason jars around my home and this bright and cheery Painted Mason Jar DIY is going to be the perfect addition this spring!
DIY’s that require minimal supplies and that are quick are my favorite! This DIY will be cute to do for yourself or as a gift for a neighbor or friend.
DIY Chalk Paint Recipe- 1 TBSP baking soda, 2 TBSP acrylic paint (the ratio is always 2 to 1)
I ended up using 2 TBSP baking soda and 4 TBSP paint to cover the entire mason jar.
Mix together the baking soda and the acrylic paint. It will be a thicker consistency. Mix really well.
Next paint onto the mason jar, allowing for time to dry between coats. If you don’t wait long enough the paint will come off in sections when it is drying.
I applied 3 coats of the yellow paint, making sure to also paint the top of the jar.
Next start wrapping your jute twin around the top of the jar. I wrapped it many times until the top of the jar was covered.
Next using the Q-tip and waverly white chalk paint, dip the top of the q-tip into the paint and make a small circle on the jar (just dabbing it on will leave an open space in the middle of the dab).
I then added 3 more circles with the q-tip to create the daisy. Keep doing this around the jar until you have your desired look.
Add some flowers or candies and it’s ready to give or enjoy!

I love the mason jar. Do I spray the jar with something to seal it and make it shiny?
You definitely can! You can get a spray sealer in the craft section or hardware section at Walmart. The spray can is best.
