Ever dreamed of turning your creativity into something more? In this post, I’m sharing six powerful reasons why selling your crafts might just be the leap you’ve been waiting for—plus a little peek into how The Ruffled Daisy grew from slingbags to a six-figure brand rooted in faith, community, and creativity.
When I first started this business, it didn’t look anything like what it is today. In fact… The Ruffled Daisy was originally going to be called “Purse-nality”—because I made the CUTEST slingbag purses you’ve ever seen. (Seriously, they were adorable.)
At that time, I had no clue what I was doing. I just knew I loved to create. And like many of you, I had this itch that wouldn’t go away. I wanted something more. Something that felt like mine. Something that mattered.
So I made the bags. I sold a few here and there. I tried a handful of different creative projects. I questioned myself. I even took a step back for a season when life got overwhelming. But I never let go of that spark.
Fast forward to today, and what started as a small Facebook page has now grown into a six-figure brand. I still get goosebumps saying that out loud. The Ruffled Daisy has become something bigger than I ever imagined—not just a business, but a mission. A way to help women just like you craft your story through creativity, community, and faith.
And if you’re sitting there thinking, “Could I really sell the things I make?”—I want to share six reasons why the answer might just be YES.
You pour your heart into your crafts. Why not let someone else be blessed by them? Whether it’s a handmade sign, a piece of jewelry, or a painted ornament—your creations carry a story. And trust me, someone out there needs that story.
Selling your crafts allows you to work around your life—not the other way around. Whether you’re a busy mama, a full-time employee, or somewhere in between, this path lets you work on your terms.
It’s one thing to make beautiful things. It’s another to make beautiful things that bring joy, healing, and meaning to others. When you start selling your crafts, your creativity takes on a deeper purpose—and that’s where the magic really happens.
Y’all—I have the BEST community. Truly. And that didn’t happen overnight. It started with showing up, sharing my work, and being real. Over time, those likes and comments turned into friendships, mentorships, and a sisterhood that I cherish. When you sell your crafts, you’re not just building a business. You’re building connection.
There’s something powerful about doing work that aligns with your soul. The fulfillment I feel when I see someone painting one of my kits or hanging a handmade piece in their home? It fills me in ways no paycheck ever could. If you’ve ever felt like your creative gifts were “just a hobby,” let me gently remind you—God gave them to you for a reason.
Let’s talk numbers for a second. I never dreamed this would become a six-figure business. But here we are. When you take your craft seriously, others will too. And with intention, heart, and a whole lot of grace, your passion can absolutely become your paycheck.
So friend—if you’ve been on the fence, consider this your nudge.
And hey, if you need a cheerleader in your corner, you’ve got one right here. 💛
You were made to create. And the world needs what you have to offer.
P.S. I’d love to hear your story—drop a comment and tell me: what’s holding you back from selling your crafts? Or if you already do, what’s the biggest lesson you’ve learned on the journey?
