Let’s get to making these goodies so you know the exact thing I used to make these cookies Cherry flavored without changing anything else in a recipe.
Start by mixing the butter, vanilla and sugars together.
Did you spot the special ingredient in the list above?? It’s CHERRY JELLO! After your sugars and butters are mixed thoroughly, add one 3 ounce box of cherry jello. This will give your dough the pink color as well as flavor. SCORE!!
Next up, add all of your dry ingredients and mix thoroughly.
Gently mix in your white chocolate chips. You can use all white or mix in some brown. It’s a personal preference in what your family likes.
At this point, if you bake the cookies, they will flatten. In order to prevent that from happening, you will want to refrigerate your cookie dough for at least 30 minutes. That will harden the butter back up so that the cookies bake nice and fluffy. Side note – my husband loves thin cookies, so I tend to bake him a small batch before I refrigerate.
Using a small cookie scoop, place them 5 inches apart on a cookie sheet. You can also add some extra sprinkles before cookies to dress them up a little bit.
Bake at 350 degree for 10-12 minutes and let cool on a cooling rack.
Tie or package them up and they’re ready to go to a school party or to give as a gift to a neighbor or friend.
