I had company visit the other day and wasn’t expecting them to stay for dinner. But when it happens, I always welcome feeding friends and family. I had hamburger thawed but hadn’t really planned what I was going to use it for. In comes a homemade Beef Stroganoff. I didn’t have the typical ingredients (cream of mushroom soup mix for one) to create this dish but I had some other ingredients that I knew I could throw together and create just a dish that was just as satisfying! And let me tell you – it was better than any boxed or canned meal. Everything from scratch tastes better.
Here’s what you need
2 lbs ground beef
2 packets gold onion soup mix
1T garlic
1T worchestershire
1 cups water
4T butter
1 1/2 T bouillon powder
1 block cream cheese
1/2 cup sour cream
Egg noodles
Directions – Brown hamburger in electric skillet or pan. Add onion soup mix, butter, and garlic. After thoroughly cooked, mix water and bouillon powder and mix into cream cheese. Add sour cream. Add to meat mixture. While the meat is simmering, cook egg noodles according to package directions. Once noodles are cooked, add to meat mixture and serve!!
Here’s a handy recipe sheet to print off so you always have it at hand! Share this page with your friends – they’ll thank you, I promise!
