Having a recipe that pleases everyone and is FULL of flavor is something hard to do. I know this recipe calls for jalapeños, but the heat comes in the kind you choose to use – you can definitely tailor this to little taste buds. Our dish was not spicy at all!!
Ingredients:
My husband and I cook alot together and so he worked on the chicken while I worked on the sauce. We like to use chicken thighs but chicken breasts would work great too.
Slice your chicken pieces into strips and wrap them in bacon. Grill your chicken outside or on the stove top and season with your favorite seasoning.
While he was cooking the chicken, I started on the jalapeno cream sauce.
Melt your butter and saute your garlic and onions.
At this point you want to add your jalapenos. We used pickled bottle cap jalapenos because we didn’t want the flavor to be hot since the kiddos were eating it. If you enjoy more heat, then using fresh jalapenos will do that for you. Use 1-2 depending on the kick that you’re wanting it to have.
With all of your veggies sautéed, add 2 T of sour cream and thoroughly mix it in.
Add your cream and milk and simmer for about 10 minutes. After it has simmered, take an immersion blender and blend it all together. This will create a cream base versus a sauce with veggie chunks in it. This will also blend all of the flavors together beautifully!
Once it is blended completely, you can add your bacon wrapped chicken and top with parsley and parmesan cheese.
Put it on a plate and it’s ready to serve! I promise this is a dish that will become your new family favorite!
We like cooking for friends and since we mastered this with the kiddos, we are going to have a dinner party where this is served.
This Bacon Wrapped Chicken in Jalapeno Cream Sauce is something that I could have on my menu every week – it’s THAT GOOD!! You can serve it over pasta or with a side salad.
