Being a momma is the hardest job in the world! I LOVE being able to celebrate Mother’s Day and creating gifts that are truly meaningful to the recipient.
This week I’ve teamed up with some of my very favorite blogger friends and we’re sharing DIY Mother’s Day Gift Ideas that you can make on your Cricut. I am going to show you how to make this quilted Mother’s Day plaque with your vinyl cutter!
Don’t have a Cricut?
Well friends, you’re in luck! We’re giving one lucky reader a Cricut Explore Air 2 for themselves AND one for their mama plus two $125 gift cards so you and your mama can buy all the craft supplies you need!!! How exciting is that?!?!?

Here’s how you can make your own Quilted Mother’s Day Plaque!
Supplies needed:
- Patterned vinyl
- Wood plaque – painted in whatever color you choose.
- Black vinyl
- Button
- Cricut Cutter – remember, you can enter to win a FREE one at the bottom of this post!
I have always loved the look of patterned vinyl but never could quite find a project to use it on. I came up with the idea to make a quilted Mother’s Day plaque and knew that this would be the PERFECT project to use patterned vinyl on! There are so many options when it comes to choosing what patterned vinyl to use. I chose this option because I knew that my mom would love it.
I created a downloaded file of the design so you can get to creating your Quilted Mother’s Day Sign.

Using your Cricut, cut pieces of the design out that correspond to the patterned vinyl you are using. Cricut has all kinds of tutorials on how to cut and use theur vinyl cutting machine.

Once all of your pieces are cut, you’re going to want to lay them out on your already painted wood piece. The process is weeding, transfer tape, application. I am in the process of uploading HOW-TO videos for these steps, but in the meantime there are TONS of tutorials online.

Isn’t it coming together beautifully?!

Once all of your vinyl is applied, it’s time to add your button and sand the edges for a distressed look. The sanding is completely optional.

You can seal the piece if you want but it isn’t required since it will remain indoors!
I absolutely LOVE the way the patterned vinyl made this Quilted Mother’s Day Plaque spectacular!!

This makes such a fun little Mother’s Day present… or really a great present for mom anytime!
