Don’t pass up the discounted, out of season, decor at the Dollar Tree! Here’s how you can transform it into an adorable decor piece!
Grab those clearance items from any dollar store and make them into an adorable piece that matches your decor perfectly!
I grabbed these spring block photo holders from Dollar General when they were on clearance and were $.50 each! You can find crafting bases for much cheaper than that!
Pick out some scrapbook paper that matches your decor or the season! I went with a green base for these and it was perfect!
Trace your blocks onto your scrapbook paper. Cut out each piece and then mod podge onto your wooden blocks. You can take some sandpaper and knock off the edge of the paper once it is on your block to distress it a little bit.
Next, you’re going to take your stencil (or vinyl letters if you cut them) and center them onto your blocks. I had four blocks so I just spelled out F-A-L-L. If you have some bleeding, you can take a liner paintbrush and clean up the lines on your letters.
For the ribbon, I made my own out of fabric. I like the rustic style that it creates with the messy edges. You can also get a wide variety of ribbons based on the designs that are in your fabric.
To create the fabric ribbon, simple make small slits into the edge of your fabric and then just rip! YES! Rip the fabric – you’re going to LOVE it!
Tie them onto the photo holders and then you’re done!
What do you think of these DIY Fall Blocks? I think they turned out adorable! You could use these for photo holders, recipe holders, note holders with what you’re thankful for, and SO MUCH MORE!
