Easter is just around the corner, and it’s time to start thinking about creative ways to celebrate this joyful occasion. In this blog post, I will guide you through an easy and budget-friendly DIY project that will surely add a touch of charm to your Easter morning. Get ready to transform simple supplies from the Dollar Store into an adorable Carrot Basket, perfect for filling with your favorite treats!
Gather all materials, remove tags and packaging.
Base coat the inside and outside of the metal paper clip cup with orange acrylic craft paint. Let dry and apply a second coat, if necessary. Making sure to paint the bottom.
Using a glue gun and glue sticks, attach the twine-wrapped carrots to the outside of the metal paper clip cup. Make sure to glue the carrots close together, filling in all of the empty spaces.
The last carrot was a bit of a tight fit, so gently squeeze the foam carrot between your fingers and thumb, and then insert, securing with glue.
Measure two 12” lengths of wired jute cord, and then trim to size with wire cutters. Twist the two lengths of wired jute cord together to create one handle.
Carefully bend the handle to create an arch. Attach the ends of the handle to the right and left side of the carrot basket, tucking into empty spaces between the carrots. Secure the ends of the handle with a glue gun and glue sticks.
Tie a bow with natural jute twine, and attach to the top edge of the basket with a glue gun and glue sticks. Trim any long ends with scissors.
Your charming Carrot Basket is complete and ready to be filled with your favorite Easter treats. This DIY project is not only simple and affordable, but it also adds a personal touch to your Easter celebrations. The best part? You can reuse your Carrot Basket year after year, making it a cherished addition to your holiday traditions.
