This Acorn Door Hanger turned out absolutely stunning with the help of simple and budget friendly supplies.
People have been decorating with acorns for years, but they have never really been a think for me. Until now!!!
I am absolutely obsessed with the high end look this simple DIY created and I know you will too.
Using one of the Acorn Blanks in my shop, I traced the bottom portion onto the faux time tile and cut to size and then glued on.
Using a matte or chalk paint, I coated it in a cream color. I decorate in more in trendy colors according to this chart, so that was the color palette I was going with.
Once the paint was dry, I took some ash blue rope and covered where the acorn “cap” would be.
Once it was covered, I took some Worn Penny paint from DecoArt and painted the stem and scraped over top of the acorn with a palette knife.
To highlight and bring out the blues, I mixed some paint colors to match the rope and layered that with the palette knife as well.
To finish it off, I created my signature scrappy bow and attached it to the top.
Are you as obsessed as me!
I am seriously in LOVE with this acorn and can’t wait to decorate with it this fall!
Acorns are it for me! And I’m definitely using this one every year!
