If you have a kid, this is one of the DIY Slime best crafts to do with them!  Even as an adult, it’s enjoyable to make slime – and the added glitter makes it extra cool!

I searched many DIY slime recipes online and tweaked a few of them to make this one.  All it takes is a few simple ingredients that most everyone has on hand.  The only thing I had to buy (minus the glue) was the contact lens solution.

Here’s how to make your own DIY Slime

Elmer’s Glitter Glue and Clear Glue – (used two bottles just because of the amount I wanted to make for gifts but you can definitely adjust the recipe accordingly.)  You can also use the plain white glue.  If you buy regular glue versus the glitter glue, you can add fine glitter to the mix.

Baking Soda (2 TBSP)

Gel Food Coloring – used to desired color preference

Contact Lens Solution (3 TBSP)

Pour both bottle of glue into a bowl and add baking soda.  I wanted this to be a Christmas green so I added the gel food coloring.

Mix thoroughly and then add the contact lens solution.  The contact solution must contain boric acid for it to work,  (As you can tell from the pic, the green food coloring made it a beautiful Christmas green color!)

After mixing the solution in, this is what you will get.  If it remains a little bit sticky, add more contact lens solution in small amounts.

It’s DONE!!

I wanted to gift some to some kiddos I know, so I made gift tags with my DecoArt Metallic paint (I used Festive Red) on wooden tags.    I had some on hand but THESE will work too.  Then I cut some simple “Holiday Slime” vinyl with a tree.

This is a fun craft to do with your kids or take make for gifts like we did!  I hope you try it out and let me know what you think!!  Attach the tag with some ribbon and you’ve got yourself an adorable gift!
