I love the blank slate that each new year brings! It’s a time to reflect about where we have been and where we want to go. We all have grandiose resolutions which usually fall to the wayside in about a month. Many of the resolutions that we commit to are simply unattainable. The main reason is simply because we have grand ideas to make life “better” but we don’t sit down to think about the process to get to that point.
Think about your resolutions. I am sure they are GREAT and if achieved will bring a sense of happiness and growth within your life. But let’s think about the steps to get to those resolutions. Those are the hard facts that you must face day-to-day in order to reach success.
Here are my resolutions for the year.
A greater knowledge of self.
A strengthened marriage.
A close female friendship formed.
A clear direction/purpose for The Ruffled Daisy.
Honestly, that’s a lot of hard stuff. A lot of daily steps to work on in order to achieve each of those things. Will I achieve them all this year? I hope so. Maybe not. But at the end of 2015 I hope to look back and at least see growth towards success in those areas.
In holding myself accountable, I am going to share with you, things I am doing to reach these goals. There will be blog posts this year in which I share some of my most intimate parts of my in order to hopefully learn more about myself. I have a of internal work. There will be blog posts about steps I am taking to improve my marriage. It’s no secret that marriage is hard work and after close to 12 years of marriage for me, we are feeling that. Hopefully some of the things I share will inspire you to join in and create a stronger bond in your relationship whether you are married or just dating. There will be blog posts in which I share some of my fears with close friendships and ways in which I am trying to overcome those. Friendships are very hard for me. I’ve only held a couple close female friendships in my life and I pray that through my growth of self that God will allow that special female person into my life. I will also share about all of the dreams and ambitions I have for The Ruffled Daisy and steps I am taking to grow it for my customers while at the same time keeping balance in my home.
This is going to be a year of growth for me, my family, and my business and I can’t wait to see where it takes me!
If you come back to visit tomorrow, I will be sharing with you a special gift I gave my husband for Christmas that will help us strengthen our marriage throughout the entire 12 months of this year! AND, it’s something that you can definitely incorporate into your own relationship 🙂
